Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated tech launches of 2025.

As leaks and insider reports start to surface, fans and analysts alike are expecting major design overhauls, processor and camera upgrades, and a stronger push into AI features.

Apple is reportedly set to replace the iPhone Plus model with a new, thinner iPhone 17 Slim (or Air). It marks a bold shift in its lineup strategy, as per tech media and Forbes.

Whether you’re eyeing a Pro Max powerhouse or curious about the all-new Slim, here are 10 things to expect from the iPhone 17 series:

#1. Multiple models including iPhone 17 Air

Apple is expanding the lineup with four models: the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new ultra-slim model called the iPhone 17 Slim/Air which replaces the discontinued Plus variant.

#2. Manufacturing in India

For the first time, Apple is manufacturing some iPhone 17 models in India (standard models), while the iPhone 17 Air is being produced in China. This marks a significant shift in Apple’s production strategy, as per tech site BGR.

#3. Launch timing

The announcement is expected in the second or third week of September 2025, with pre-orders shortly after and availability within a week or two.

#4. New colours

Rumours suggest fresh colour options, including eye-catching green and purple shades, adding more variety to the lineup, as per MacRumors. The iPhone 17 series may not only look different, but feel like the most futuristic iPhone experience yet.

#5. A19 Pro chipset, AI, improved cooling

Performance improvements are also on the horizon. The iPhone 17 Pro models will feature Apple’s new A19 Pro chip, paired with an advanced vapour chamber cooling system using a copper thermal plate to better manage heat during intensive tasks.

The new Pro chip promises better efficiency and machine learning (read: AI) capabilities, while even the base models are expected to get a RAM boost. Wi-Fi 7 support, longer battery life, and new finishes are also in the mix.

#6. Design and display enhancements

Expect a larger display on the base iPhone 17 and a continuation of sleek, refined designs. The iPhone 17 Air emphasizes a slim, elegant form factor.

#7. Pricing outlook

The standard iPhone 17 may retain pricing similar to current models, while the iPhone 17 Air could be priced around the previous Plus model’s range. Pro models might see a price hike due to upgrades in chipset, camera, and charging features.

#8. Software upgrade: iOS 26

The iPhone 17 series will launch alongside iOS 26, expected to bring new features and improvements to enhance user experience.

#9. No delays expected

Apple has completed engineering validation testing and is on track for a timely release without delays, unlike some previous years, Forbes reported.

#10. Potential new affordable model in 2026

Rumor has it that Apple might drop an iPhone 17e — think of it as the cool little sibling of the iPhone 17 family. This budget-friendly champ is expected to come in hot with a price tag under $1,000, making it perfect for those who want the Apple magic without breaking the bank.

It’s like getting VIP access to the iPhone club, but with a sweeter deal. Stay tuned — your next favorite phone might just be around the corner, as per BGR.
