Dubai: Telecom service providers in the UAE changed their network names on Wednesday to commemorate another special occasion in the country.

Etisalat and du have just switched the mobile carrier names on UAE’s phone subscribers to “30 NOV,” to highlight an important date on the state’s calendar.

The last day of November, previously known as Martyr’s Day, is the Commemoration Day of UAE, which is celebrated every year in recognition of the sacrifices of the country’s martyrs.

November 30 falls on a Friday this year, so all ceremonies related to the event will be held on November 29, Thursday.
