Festive cheer was the call of the hour, as celebrities hit pause on their busy paparazzi-centred lives to spend Christmas with near and dear ones, while sprinkling a little bit of goodwill along the way.

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence kept up her annual Christmas tradition of bringing cheer to the kids at a Louisville, Kentucky hospital. An Instagram post by Norton Children’s Hospital thanked the actress, stating: “Louisville’s own Jennifer Lawrence stopped by Norton Children’s today to visit with patients, families, and staff. This visit has become a tradition for Lawrence each Christmas. Thank you, Jennifer! You sure do bring a smile to all!”

While Lawrence cheerfully posed with the kids, her BFF Kris Jenner also thanked the actress for gifting her a Porsche car — albeit a toy one that we reckon her grandkids could enjoy over the holidays.

The Kardashian clan kept with tradition to host their annual Christmas bash, with Khloe showing off her six-month baby bump, even as Kanye West appeared as a reluctant participant in a deadpan selfie with wife Kim Kardashian West for the latter’s Snapchat. However, Kardashian West had no trouble showing off her pout with singer Christina Aguilera by her side.

For most, including Mariah Carey (who spent the holidays with the kids in Aspen), Christmas was time well spent with family, with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Jumanji co-star Kevin Hart, and Miley Cyrus posting picture perfect images with their loved ones.

Serena Williams, who will return to tennis in Abu Dhabi on December 30 nearly four months after giving birth, spent her first Christmas with daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian by her side.

Bollywood was no exception, with the festivities kicking off earlier in the week with producer-director Karan Johar hosting his Christmas bash, celebrating his first with kids Yash and Roohi.

The Kapoor family, including Kareena, Karisma and Ranbir, attended the annual Christmas brunch — a tradition that was initiated by their late grand uncle Shashi Kapoor; the family took this moment to honour the thespian who passed away earlier this month.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena’s son Taimur, who turned one last week, was the clear star of the day, posing cheerfully for the trigger-happy family, including one with uncle Ranbir that was captured by Neetu Kapoor.

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ayushmann Khuranna appeared to take a page out of Lawrence’s Christmas tradition and chose to spend the day with underprivileged kids. Khuranna also thanked Akshay Kumar through his social media account, stating: “Celebrated Christmas with the kids at St Catherine’s home. Thank you Akshay Kumar for introducing me to happiness. Blessed.”
