White youngest ever to win IBSF tournament
Dubai: Fourteen-year-old Michael White emerged the youngest ever winner of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation's (IBSF) World Grand Prix Championship in Northern Wales.
Scotland's Mark Boyle started as the favourite against home boy White from Wales. However, the final did not go on form as White stormed into a 3-0 lead. Boyle looked like turning things around completely, surging to 2-3 with the help of a 65 break in frame 5. But White sprung back, taking another hat-trick of frames to lead 6-2.
Boyle repeated his feat of winning 2 from behind and closed to 4-6 before White added two more of his own, including a clean 102 the sole century break of the match. Boyle managed one more frame before White's inertia carried him over the line with a 72-break in frame 15.
