Abu Dhabi: Coverage of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) starts on Monday, with live telecasts on Showsports 1 (Arabic) and Showsports 4 (English), Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) announced.

OSN said it will offer subscribers an "extravaganza" in the 12 days leading up to the event in Abu Dhabi on April 10.

Starting on Monday at 7pm, viewers will have the chance to re-live UFC 100 through to UFC 111 in preparation for UFC 112, which has two championship belts up for grabs.

In addition, viewers can watch new episodes of UFC Wired and UFC Unleashed. A live broadcast of Fight Night 21 Live Florian v Gomi will be broadcast on April 21 at 4am.

This will be followed later that day by the Ultimate Fighter Season 11 Premier, Team Ortiz vs Team Liddell at 9pm.

Marshall Zelaznik, Managing Director of International Expansion of UFC said: "It's important for us when we enter new markets to create as much awareness and understanding of UFC and Mixed Martial Arts as we can so this level of TV exposure is a wonderful way of achieving that goal."

"Our partnership with OSN is going to create huge buzz around our first venture in to the Middle East with screenings of all our last 11 UFC events, fight nights and of course The Ultimate Fighter – our reality TV series. Topped off with a live screening of UFC 112 Abu Dhabi, it will be a fantastic two weeks of television coverage," Zelaznik said.

UFC 112 Abu Dhabi will be the first ever UFC event to be staged in the Middle East. The event will be held outside Ferrari World, Yas Island.

Anderson "The Spider" Silva will be defending his Middleweight title against Demian Maia, while BJ "The Prodigy" Penn will put his belt on the line against number one contender Frankie Edgar for the Lightweight title.

UFC 112 Abu Dhabi will be the first ever UFC outdoor fight and will take place in a custom-built stadium outside Ferrari World, Yas Island.

Tickets are available from www.boxofficeme.com, the UFC stand at Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi and at selected Virgin Megastores across the UAE. More information can be found at www.UFC.com.
