Sharjah: A dramatic sudden death goal against Cornflakes saw Al Rijab crowned champions in the UAE finals of the Neymar Junior Fives football tournament at Sharjah Waterfront on Friday.
The win booked Al Rijab’s berth in the Neymar Junior Fives World Finals, which are scheduled to be held at Neymar’s Institute in Sao Paulo, Brazil — the Brazil and Paris Saint Germain player’s hometown — in July, where teams representing more than 64 countries will take part.
More than 860 teams competed in the third edition of the tournament in the UAE alone this year and only 16 made it to Friday’s national final.
