Sharjah sports clubs rewarded for achievements

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has awarded high-achieving sports clubs in the emirate a sum of Dh3.270 million for the victories they achieved during the 2014-2015 season.

Ahmad Nasser Al Fardan, Secretary General of the Sharjah Sports Council, said that this initiative is a reflection of Shaikh Sultan’s keenness to encourage sport clubs to pursue greater successes.

The grant will benefit Sharjah Sports and Cultural Club, Al Shaab Sports and Cultural Club, Kalba Sports and Culture Union, Al Hamriyah Sports and Culture Club, Al Batayeh Sports and Culture Club, Al Thiqa Club for the Handicapped, Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled, Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club, Sharjah Women’s Chess Club, Sharjah Equestrian Cub, and Sharjah Ladies Club.

Al Fardan said the athletes and youth had pledged to Shaikh Sultan their constant efforts to improve their level of performance and to bring greater glory to their clubs and country.
