Abu Dhabi: Scotland defeat UAE comprehensively by seven-wickets to complete a clean sweep in the World Cricket League Championship on Tuesday.

With this win, the Scots have moved to the second spot in the league table behind the Netherlands.

Taking the first share of the crease, UAE vice-captain Shaiman Anwar top-scored for his side with 63 but his team couldn’t bolster the innings and they were bundled out for 228. Useful contributions also came from Mohammad Usman (43) and Rameez Shahzad (33) but UAE were all out in 46 overs.

The Scots also lost two quick wickets in Craig Wallace and Kyle Coetzer and were reduced to 43 for 2 at one stage. However, Calum MacLeod with a fine 103 and Preston Mommsen with 80 put them on the victory path. The duo put on a partnership of 165-runs for the third wicket. Scotland then eased past the UAE target with 14 balls to spare.
