Goal fest as Al Embrator batter Al Zaeem

Sharjah: Abdul Rahman Fahd slammed four goals as Al Embrator demolished Al Zaeem 12-2 on the sixth night of the Sharjah Ramadan Football Championship (SRFC) being played at the Sharjah Sports Club.

With the tournament reaching the halfway mark, teams have been making an extra effort to get the necessary points and book their places in the knockout stages of the second edition of this annual competition.

As Al Embrator hit a dozen, Al Jawareh netted half a dozen as they smashed Al Shabab Sharjah 6-0, while Extra were made to work that little bit extra for their 1-0 win over Al Hamriya in the three matches played late on Sunday.

Group 3 leaders Al Embrator took on third-placed Al Zaeem and dominated them throughout with Ahmad Mohammad scoring an early brace for a 2-0 cushion to Al Embrator. It was then that Abdul Rahman Fahd took over scoring the first two of his four goals in the fifth and ninth minutes as Al Zaeem goalkeeper Saud Al Shaiba stood helplessly.

Mohammad Obaid made it 5-0 in the 10th minute while a strike from Mohammad Bouladi three minutes later saw Al Embrator cruising 6-0. Al Zaeem responded with a goal from Hamad Al Shamsi, but Ahmad Mustafa ensured Al Embrator ended the half at 7-1. Serbian Marco Berge made it 8-1 in the third minute while Thamer Al Junaibi pulled a second one back for Al Zaeem.

Al Embrator continued to attack and Hamad Surour scored the ninth goal in the 12th minute and then Fahd got his third and fourth goals before Berge rounded off the rout in the final seconds of the match.

Mahmoud Ebrahim scored the only goal of the match in the 12th minute to help Extra get past a fighting Al Hamriya, while Al Jawareh quelled the Al Shabab Sharjah challenge with a 6-0 rout with a fine hat-trick from Rashid Obaid Mohammad, a brace from Egyptian Al Moataz Bellah Abdul Samei and Hamdan Al Thani scored one to strengthen Al Jawareh’s chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
