UAE enter team for Elephant Polo King’s Cup
Anantara Arabian Knights to compete against 16 other teams in Thailand this month
Abu Dhabi: The UAE have entered a team for the 13th annual King’s Cup Elephant Polo Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 28 to 31.
The Anantara Arabian Knights will compete against 16 other teams, totalling 50 players, including Thai supermodels, professional horse polo players and New Zealand rugby players, to raise funds for Thailand’s wild and domesticated elephant population.
The UAE will be captained by Wael Soueid, area general manager for Anantara Hotels and Resorts in Abu Dhabi, and will include Stuart Allan, Kristin Grube and Amer Braik.
In addition to competing, the team also will showcase Emirati hospitality with ‘Meet the Falcon’ photo-calls and date tasting.
