Dubai: Most of the top seeds in the junior age groups made it into the final stages of the Bank of Sharjah 23rd Marbella Open Tennis Championships being played in Sharjah.

On Saturday, top seed Christian Linge made it a clinical 6-2, 6-1 win over Rishabh Ramnath, while Dylan Mendonca easily got past Thomas Linge 6-2, 6-0. Seeded number four, Puneet Varier battled hard to win 7-5, 2-6, 10-1 against Shokruh Ergashev.

In the boys under-18 Kirk Rebuyas walked away winner against Mesha'al Choudhury, while second seed Marwan Al Kaissi defeated Pradeep Ravishankar 6-1, 6-3 at the other end of the draw.

Third seed Pranav Walia defeated seventh seed Arc Dolorito and fourth seed Guillaume Sabourin got past sixth seed Palash Mishra 6-1, 6-2.

The junior age groups will continue next weekend. The open tournament for senior men and women will be held from May 15-21.

The tournament is held under the patronage of Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Chairman, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).
