The Executive Board of the UAE National Olympic Committee (UAE NOC) has decided to honour the decision of the clubs while re-instating the UAE Swimming Association (UAE SA).

Earlier this week, the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare (GAYSW) under the leadership of Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, had decided to sack the entire board of directors of the UAE SA allegedly on the charge of mismanagement of funds.

However, two days later the various clubs in the UAE unanimously expressed their confidence in the outgoing board of UAE SA under the leadership of Ahmad Al Falasi.

“We have to respect the sentiments of the clubs. If they want the UAE Swimming Association board to continue then we need to go by what they say,” Mohammad Al Kamali told Gulf News.

“In case there is any further development on the case then everyone concerned will be informed accordingly,” he added.
