Seattle: Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch ended his seven-day holdout over contract issues on Thursday and reported to training camp for the Super Bowl champions.
Lynch arrived at the Seahawks’ camp after the team’s morning practice. He missed six training sessions as he tried to persuade the team to restructure his contract to give him a salary boost this season.
The Washington Times newspaper reported that Lynch is not expected to receive a new deal, but could perhaps get some kind of financial concession that will bring him more money this year.
He is entering the third year of a four-year contract worth up to $31 million (Dh113.8 million).
The Seahawks have said they did not plan to diverge from their financial plan to appease Lynch, although they could agree to waive the $495,000 in fines he has amassed for missing the first week of training camp.
Lynch ran 301 times for 1,257 yards and 12 touchdowns, and caught 36 passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns, last season to help Seattle reach the Super Bowl, where they routed Denver 43-8.
