Saina Nehwal and K Srikanth learn Dubai badminton semi-final opponents

Dubai: Indian star Saina Nehwal will take on Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in the women’s singles, while K Srikanth will be up against world champion Chen Long in the men’s singles at the BWF Destination Dubai World Superseries Badminton Finals at the Hamdan Sports Complex on Saturday.

As per regulations, a fresh draw ceremony was held after all the preliminary round matches in all five categories that concluded late on Friday.

While Nehwal will take on the world number seven from Chinese Taipei, the second semi-final will be between Japan’s fast-improving world number nine Akane Yamaguchi and world number six from South Korea, Sung Ji Hyun.

With India’s lone entry taking on the best player in the world in one semi-final, the second will be an all-Danish affair between Jan O Jorgensen and Hans-Kristian Vittinghus
