Dubai: The recently launched RAK Sailing Academy (RAKSA) will be holding its first race on March 15 from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah.
The race will start off from the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC) on Friday, March 15, and is expected to reach Al Hamra Marina and Yacht Club on Saturday afternoon.
The RAKSA team will consist of Enrico Malingiri, Edoardo Callegari and three students from the academy.
Yousuf Khalid Al Bastaki from the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) will also be present to support the event.
The race will mark the first of many events to come aimed at growing the culture of sailing in the UAE, while encouraging young Emirati sailors to take up the sport and represent the country at an international level.
