The Red Sox trailed 4-3 entering the ninth but Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia both reached on infield singles. Following a double steal, Xander Bogaerts reached on a fielding error by second baseman Ronald Torreyes and following an intentional walk to Hanley Ramirez, Beintendi drew the game-winning walk.
Hanley Ramirez hit a two-run homer for the Red Sox while Gary Sanchez hit a two-run shot for New York, 7-19 in their last 26 games.
The Red Sox extended their lead over New York in the American League East to 4 1/2 games.
Bryce Harper slugged two homers and Gio Gonazlez pitched a season-high 8 1/3 innings as Washington beat Cincinnati 5-0.
Anthony Rendon and Stephen Drew added run-scoring singles for Washington.
Gonzalez (8-4) won for the first time in four starts and scattered four hits. He retired 15 of the last 16 batters he faced. Cincinnati starter Tim Adleman (5-7) allowed five runs and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Meanwhile, Yasiel Puig homered twice and drove in four runs as Los Angeles beat Miami 6-4.
Puig recorded his fourth career multi-homer game and Corey Seager also homered for the Dodgers.

Josh Bell hit two-run homer with one out in the ninth inning and Pittsburgh beat St. Louis 5-2.
Bell hit his 17th homer off St. Louis closer Seung-Hwan Oh (1-5) with one out and drove in Adam Frazier and Andrew McCutchen.
Jedd Gyorko hit a two-run homer for the Cardinals.
