The 51-year-old’s unconventional style has taken the social media by storm. Unlike other shooters who come equipped with noise-cancelling earphones and special spectacles with specialised lenses on one side and a cover on the other eye, Dikec had none of these paraphernalia.

While in action along with his partner Sevval Ilayda Tarhan, it looked like a scene from James Bond movie.

Looking cool and composed, Dikec, who has been participating in the Summer Olympics since 2008, wore no gears and shot at his target with his other hand in the pocket. The 51-year-old, who is taking part in his fifth Olympic Games, and Tarhan narrowly missed out on the gold medal with a final score of 16-14.

Unfolding stories at the Olympics

This was not the first incident that has caught many a eyebrows during the Paris Olympics. South Korean Kim Ye-ji clinched the 10-metre air pistol silver along with Oh Ye-Jin while carrying her daughter’s stuffed toy in her non-shooting hand.

Twenty-six-year-old Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez revealed that she was seven months pregnant when she competed on the third day of the Olympic Games. She lost in the last 16 stage in the individual sabre.

At just 11 years and 11 months old, skateboarder Zheng Haohao is making history at the Olympics this summer — just before she turns 12. Not only is she the youngest Olympian at these Games, but she is set to become the People’s Republic of China’s youngest ever Olympian after being born on the penultimate day of the London 2012 Olympics. The Chinese will be making her debut while the 65-year-old Juan Antonio Jimenez Cobo of Spain, who made his equestrian Olympic debut at Sydney 2000, is competing in the Team Dressage, making him the oldest competitor.
