Abu Dhabi: Britain’s Tom Oliphant boosted his chances of a first series win in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East by winning the second race in round four of the six-stage series at Yas Marina Circuit over the weekend.

The victory extends his lead in the championship to 19 points with only two rounds and four races remaining, after nearest challenger Al Faisal Al Zubair of Oman could only finish seventh.

Oliphant was followed over the line by Dylan Pereira of Luxembourg in second and Dutch driver Charlie Frijns in third.

In the first race of the weekend, Oliphant had finished second to Pereira with Al Zubair coming third.

The series returns with the final two rounds both at the Bahrain International Circuit on March 16-17 and April 7-8.
