Abu Dhabi: Most of the "back-room" boys and brains of the Formula One teams will remain in Abu Dhabi after the race as the Yas Marina Circuit once again plays host to the three-day Young Driver Test from tomorrow to Thursday.

While teams like Ferrari and Mercedes have named the same drivers who were here last year for the test, quite a few new drivers will be out trying to make an impression as they test for their respective teams.

Ferrari Driver Academy pilot Jules Bianchi will return to the team for all three days of the Young Driver Test while Sami Bird will be in the Mercedes during the entire leg.

All eyes will be on the Red Bull Renault after Sebastian Vettel's retirement from the race yesterday and it will be Red Bull Junior driver Jean-Eric Vergne who will have the honour of driving the Championship-winning RB7.

Vergne, who is runner up in this year's Formula Renault 3.5 series, made an appearance in Friday's Free Practice here and was eleventh fastest during Free Practice 1 as he made his second appearance for Toro Rosso in an F1 session.

"This was really like a first session for me, as Korea one month ago was a washout," said the young Frenchman. "I believe the team is satisfied with the job I did as everything went well. I don't think it was anything exceptional, it was just what you would expect from a driver who wants to be in F1 next year," he said.

"I learned a lot and will use that to do better in Brazil, and before that I am looking forward to the test here next week, driving the world championship winning car," said Vergne.

McLaren and Virgin

McLaren will split their running between test and reserve driver Gary Paffett, who is 30, and Oliver Turvey.

Virgin have named Adrian Quaife-Hobbs, Charles Pic and the team's reserve Robert Wickens as their test drivers and team principal John Booth said: "The Young Driver Test is a fantastic opportunity to see the cream of the next generation of talent in action for the various teams and to enable them to demonstrate that they have what it takes to progress to the highest level of motorsport."

Johnny Cecotto Junior and British driver Max Chilton have been named by Force India for the three-day test while Formula One hopefuls Valtteri Bottas and Mirko Bortolotti will drive for Williams.

Renault have announced three drivers for the Abu Dhabi Young Driver Test: Canada's Robert Wickens, Estonia's Kevin Korjus and the Czech Republic's Jan Charouz.
