Hassan wins UAE’s national drifting final

Dubai: Lebanese driver Jihad Hassan won this year’s UAE Red Bull Car Park Drift national final at Al Ain airport last Friday.

Last week’s event saw Hassan produce a flawless performance in front of an appreciative audience. He scored 247 points to finish four ahead of Jordan’s Samer Khadra in second. Emirati drifter Faisal Al Zaabi finished third on 189 points.

Hassan said: “The competition was strong and stressful. It’s been one of the best races I’ve ever entered. This was my third time competing in the Red Bull Car Park Drift and after all that practice I made it. Hopefully I will be crowned the Middle East’s King of Drift when I represent the UAE in the regional finals.”

The event was sponsored by Chevrolet and had the support of The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs, Al Ain City Municipality, Bridgestone and Total.
