Dubai: The International Modern Hospital (TIMH) won the 3rd Ambulance and Hospitals Basketball League for the Ponderosa Steakhouse Cup with a 72-50 win over Rashid Hospital at the Salah Al Deen Sports Hall on Friday.
TIMH led 24-7 at the end of the opening quarter and 40-22 at half-time, as MVP Jessie Ojoy hauled down five rebounds and five assists along with 18 points to write off JM Castro’s high score of 24 points, four rebounds and two assists for Rashid Hospital.
Earlier, Jayson Anonical was on fire as Zulekha Hospital beat the Angel Pangilinan-led American Hospital to clinch third spot with a 67-64 win.
In the 2nd Ambulance and Hospitals Volleyball League, Jaymee Ogena, later named MVP, led Latifa Hospital to a fighting 22-25, 25-20, 25-23 win over defending champions Medcare Hospital to take the Mr. Wok Chinese Restaurant Cup.
Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services beat Mediclinic for third place.
Meanwhile, the fourth season for the AHBL and AHVL GJ Sports Cup will begin on May 10.
