Maqsood sparkles in Dubai, Ajman tournaments

Mir Club ride on opener’s form to record second victory in Ajman’s Junoon Cup

Ajman: Syed Maqsood is in tremendous form — cracking centuries and half-centuries and carrying his form into various tournaments. After cracking a century in the Dubai Cricket Council’s Gold Cup tournament for Defenders Cricket Club at the International Cricket Council Academy grounds, Maqsood representing Mir Cricket Club, scored 68 runs to ensure his team a 42 runs victory over Iconic Cricket Club in the Junoon Cup being held in Ajman.

For Defenders, Maqsood had hit 106 runs and helped his team defeat Globelink Weststar Shipping by seven wickets. Maqsood had also hit 81 runs in Mir Clubs’ nine wicket win over Desert Lions in the Junoon Cup. He is currently the highest scorer of the tournament.

In Mir Club’s win against Iconic, Maqsood played a quick knock to score 68 runs quickly and with Dawood Ejaz, who hit 34 runs, put on 94 runs in the first nine overs.
