Dubai: Khurram Hameed hit an undefeated century to lead Abu Dhabi Gentlemen to a six-wicket win over Gasco but Linkan Alexander's ton went in vain as Al Fahim fell short of Thrifty Rent-A-Car's total in the weekend's UAE Exchange Centre division-two cricket tournament matches here at the council grounds.
Khurram hit 18 fours in a top score of 102 not out and shared a unbroken 90-run stand for the third wicket with Tariq Javed (36 not out) to see his team knock off the winning runs in 19.1 overs in reply to Gasco's 158 for nine in the allotted 25 overs.
Devastating spell
Linkan (100 not out) and Mujahid Jabbar (47 not out) shared an undefeated 165-run stand for the fourth wicket, yet they fell 16 runs short of Thrifty's total, after Mohammad Raza had reduced them to three for six by claiming all three wickets in a devastating opening spell.
