Dubai: G Force Cricket Academy have launched a 70-day summer programme to groom young cricketers. The indoor training facility is mainly aimed at young cricketers who will be staying in the UAE for the summer holidays.

Gopal Jasapara, the Head Coach of the G Force Cricket Academy, said: “We will be transforming the Dubai World Trade Centre’s exhibition centre into a cricket venue to groom youngsters during the summer. It will be non-stop cricket for them during the next 70 days.”
Dubai Sports World have taken the initiative to make available the indoor sporting facility at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

G Force academy came up with the training programme in the airconditioned environs of the Dubai World Trade Centre as a way of keeping young players involved with the game despite the during the holiday period. “We will be focusing on teaching the basics of the game from the age of eight. In the afternoon, we will stage Coaching Master Class, which will groom cricketers in specific areas of the game. For example, there will be special sessions for fast bowlers, spinners and even batsmen who want to correct certain strokes,” said Jasapara. The Master Class sessions will be for children above the age of 12.

The programme will also include matches within the indoor venue. “We will stage 10-over matches, double-wicket and T20 matches to help children get adjusted to all types of cricket. There will be also a Youth Premier League held for boys Under-19,” Jasapara added.
