Shabab Al Ahli secured their second Challenge Shield title with a thrilling 3-1 win over Al Rayyan in the UAE-Qatar Super Cup, held at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Doha.

Shabab Al Ahli first lifted the UAE-Qatar Super Cup last season, beating Al Duhail 2-1.

The match began at a high tempo, with Shabab Al Ahli asserting themselves early on.

Yuri Cesar opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a clinical finish from a perfectly weighted pass by Guilherme Da Silva Pala.

However, Al Rayyan equalized in the 41st minute, courtesy of an own goal by Renan Victor Da Silva.

The second half saw Shabab Al Ahli keep their strong performance.

Sardar Azmoun restored the lead in the 52nd minute with a composed strike, once again set up by Guilherme Da Silva’s brilliance.

Al Rayyan pushed hard for an equalizer, with a strong header from Róger Guedes in the 71st minute forcing a superb save from Shabab Al Ahli goalkeeper Hamad Almeqbaali.

As the match entered stoppage time, Da Silva capped off his stellar performance with a well-taken goal in the 97th minute, sealing the victory for Shabab Al Ahli and securing the Challenge Shield.
