Madrid: Real Sociedad could not manage more than a 0-0 draw against Girona in La Liga on Monday, staying winless at home this season.

The Basque Country club have drawn twice and lost twice in four games at their Anoeta Stadium.

It was the fifth straight winless match for Girona, who remain unbeaten in four away matches this season, including a 2-2 draw at Barcelona.

Sociedad stay ninth in the standings with 12 points from nine matches. Girona are 15th, with 10 points.

Girona striker Cristhian Stuani, the league’s scoring leader with eight goals, came off the bench in the second half and played only about 20 minutes. He was rested after playing with Uruguay’s national team during the international break.
