No time for coaches to get it right

Dubai: The sacking of coaches in the first division has begun early this season.

So far five coaches have been fired. Brazilian Vagner Mancini was the fifth to be sacked following Al Nasr's 3-1 defeat against Al Shabab.

Three of the four sacked coaches were from Tunisia: Mohammad Al Menssi of Hatta, Ammar Al Suwayih of Al Dhafra and Yousuf Al Zuwawi of Al Ahli.

The fourth was Brazilian Ivo Wartman of Al Wahda.

Just five weeks into the new season and five coaches were fired.

However more coaches are expected to be sacked in the coming weeks according to results.

Good example

Mancini who began with Al Nasr in the last four matches last season, doesn't have coaching experience. The 41-year-old retired playing from the game just five years ago and has only four years experience which is not enough for a coach to succeed in the UAE league.

Mancini will return to Brazil to coach there and gain more experience and could return to the UAE in the future.

Not all Brazilians are unsuccessful in UAE . Toninho Cerezo is a good example. Cerezo who played in the world cup 1978 and 1982, is leading Al Shabab successfully. They have won five out of five league matches, and are top of the table with 15 points. Al Shabab, led by the three talented Iranians Mobali, Qazimian and Awladi, along with Emirati players Salim Saad, Suroor Salim, Esam Dhahi, Walid Abbas and Dawood Ali, kept the club's winning streak alive and they will continue in the coming matches until they clinch the league title for the third time in their club's history.

Defending champions Al Wasl scored their second successive win following three defeats, beating Emirates in Ras Al Khaimah 1-0 to jump to sixth place.

Sharjah scored a revenge 2-0 win over city rivals Al Shaab, which lifted them to third place. Al Ain beat Hatta 3-1 to become second with nine points and a game in hand.

Al Ahli came from behind to win their first point at home following a 2-2 draw with Al Jazira who squandered a 2-0 lead.
