Abu Dhabi: With Spanish giants Read Madrid having got their hands on the Uefa Champions League by beating Liverpool, they have qualified to defend their Club World Cup title from December 12-22, 2018 in the capital.
This year’s Club World Cup will be all the more special as the Whites will be looking for their third consecutive title under coach Zinedine Zidane.
The teams that have qualified along with Real Madrid are CONCACAF winners C.D. Guadalajara, OFC champions Team Wellington and host team Al Ain FC.
“The FIFA Club World Cup will be one of the biggest competitions in club football taking place this year. In 2018, the United Arab Emirates will host the tournament for the fourth time and are confident it will be a tremendous success. “With the European qualifier now decided, we have three continental club champion teams confirmed along with the host team for the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018. Excitement is building. In 2017, we witnessed fans embrace the early opportunity to secure their seats and ensure they do not miss out on one of the most exciting spectacles in club football,” added Le Floc’h.
Aref Al Awani, tournament director of the local organising committee for the Fifa Club World Cup UAE 2018, said, “With the Visa pre-sale now live for this year’s tournament, we invite fans around the world to seize the opportunity and join the club. Fans are already guaranteed to see some of the world’s best footballers in two state-of-the-art stadia in Abu Dhabi and, with three places still to be decided, more world-class talent is going to follow. Tickets for the match go on sale starting Tuesday. Visa cardholders can buy tickets until June 11 while the window for the general public opens on June 12.
