Marwan Bin Galita elected president of UAE Football Association

Defeats Yousuf Al Sarkal, the longest serving president of UAE Football Association, by four votes

 Abu Dhabi: Marwan Bin Galita became the new president of UAE Football Association (UAEFA) on Saturday when he defeated Yousuf Al Sarkal by 19-15 votes. Al Sarkal had been one of the longest serving presidents of UAE FA and vice-president of Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Currently the head of Dubai’s Real Estate Regulatory Agency (Rera), Marwan Bin Galita had presented a four-point agenda for a revamped administration of the UAEFA – one of the main points of which is allotment of 25% of the UAE FA’s revenue for the smaller football clubs of the UAE. There are 18 clubs in all from the first and second division football in the UAE.
