Slovenian striker 'favours' Red Devils but Newcastle aiming to sign deal
Manchester United have made an offer worth €75m plus €10m add-ons for Benjamin Sesko; no reply from Leipzig yet. The Red Devils believe Slovenian striker favours Old Trafford. Newcastle also working to close the deal. (source: David Ornstein)
Gulf News verdict: Manchester United have finally put in their official bid after Newcastle increased their offer last night. Newcastle have reportedly offered €90 million as a package including add-ons, whereas United’s bid is €85 million including add-ons. As we’ve always said, the player has to make the decision now. Leipzig might be leaning more towards Newcastle’s offer, which is higher, but the player will make the final decision. The saga could come to an end sooner rather than later.
Atalanta are refusing to sell Ademola Lookman to Serie A rivals Inter. The Italian club insist the Nigeria forward can only sign for a top club outside Italy. (source: Guardian Sport)
Gulf News verdict: Ademola Lookman has put in a transfer request, but the Atalanta director himself came out and said they don’t want to sell him to any other Italian club. This was already decided with the player verbally earlier, according to him. We have to wait and see what happens now. It seems like Lookman only wants to go to Inter Milan.
Marseille would demand €90 million for Mason Greenwood. Manchester United still retain 50 per cent of his economic rights, but ultimately, Marseille don’t want to sell him this summer and the player doesn’t want to leave. (source: Ben Jacobs)
Gulf News verdict: Apparently Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr want to sign him, but Marseille don’t want to sell him. I think Marseille will keep him in this window.
Los Angeles FC have agreed to pay €22.5 million for Heung-min Son. He has become the most expensive transfer in MLS history. (source: ESPN FC)
Gulf News verdict: Even at the age of 33, he could still play in Europe, but he has decided to move to MLS. It’s good for the league. However, Son is leaving Tottenham as not only a Spurs legend but also a Premier League legend. Is he the greatest Asian player of all time? That’s a debate to be had. He was a wonderful soul as well.
AC Milan are set to sign Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge for €39 million. The deal is at the “here we go” stage. (source: Fabrizio Romano)
Gulf News verdict: This will be a fantastic signing for AC Milan. The 23-year-old Swiss midfielder is definitely a talent, and with Tijjani Reijnders’ move to City, Milan needed to make a reinforcement in midfield. He is quality.
