Khalil and Kamburov set to garner glory

Al Ahli will be relying heavily on their strike force of Faisal Khalil and Martin Kamburov as they eye a second successive title.

Kamburov joined the Red Devils at the end of last year, and though he got a very brief taste of action, he has seen glory all the way.

"I played in five games and we won all of them. I hope we can keep up this winning touch this season," Kamburov said.

Faisal Khalil, who had to team up with on-loan Farhad Majidi at the end of the season last year, is hoping they will be able to make a difference.

"I did not have any regular partner with me, and that made things a bit difficult. But now there is Kamburov and I hope we can combine well and live up to the expectations of our countless fans," Khalil added.

"It's going to be a long season and I hope our fans come out in huge numbers and support us throughout. In reply, we can only promise to give them our best performance on the field," Khalil said.
