I don't need Tevez — Aguero

Dublin: Sergio Aguero, Manchester City's record signing, is confident he will adapt to life in the Premier League with or without Carlos Tevez as a team-mate, though his manager, Roberto Mancini, has not yet ruled out pairing his two Argentine strikers this season.

The £35 million (Dh210 million) forward revealed that he had consulted Tevez before completing his move from Atletico Madrid, but stressed that he did not believe his presence was crucial to his success in England.

"If he is here, then that is great," he said after arriving in Dublin. "If not, then I will adapt without him. Who is here and who is not does not matter, what is important is that I become part of the team. It is easy to adapt these days."

Prospect

The prospect of Aguero being guided through his first season by Tevez, though, is not as distant as it may have seemed earlier this summer. Mancini is adamant he would be "happy" to see Tevez, who is due to return on Thursday, play "a full part" in his squad, but sources in Italy suggest he would be equally pleased should one of the sides City face here this weekend, Inter Milan, offer him the chance of a part exchange deal with Samuel Eto'o.
