Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Sport Council congratulated Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the National Security Adviser and Honorary Head of the UAE Football Federation, for the victory of the UAE under-17 football team in the GCC countries championship in Kuwait.
Shaikh Hamdan lauded the outstanding victory of the team, and the efforts that resulted in the UAE team crowned champions, especially as this is the second championship won by the team which also won the second Gulf Olympic teams championship that was held lately in Qatar.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, received on Friday evening members of the UAE Under-17 football team, winners of the 7th Gulf Cup.
Shaikh Hamdan praised the unlimited support given to UAE sports by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
He urged the UAE Football Association to give more attention to preparing youth. He also called on the young players to work hard to maintain their top levels and to improve their skills.
