Manchester City star Erling Haaland has committed the majority of his playing career to the Premier League champions, signing a contract extension that runs until the summer of 2034.

The 24-year-old Norwegian forward, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, has established himself as one of the world’s most prolific strikers, and his new deal is reportedly one of the most lucrative in sporting history.

According to reports from The Athletic, Haaland’s previous contract, which included release clauses, has been replaced with terms that firmly tie him to the Etihad Stadium. This development effectively ends ongoing speculation about a potential move to Real Madrid, who had been frequently linked with the Norwegian superstar.

Haaland has already cemented his legacy at Manchester City, scoring an incredible 111 goals in just 126 appearances. His contributions have been pivotal in the club’s success, including back-to-back Premier League titles, an FA Cup victory, and a starring role in their historic treble-winning campaign in 2023, which culminated in Champions League glory.

The Norwegian striker is now poised to remain the focal point of Pep Guardiola’s side for the next decade.

For City, securing Haaland’s long-term future comes at a crucial time, as they navigate a challenging season that has seen them fall short of their usual dominance.

Guardiola’s team currently sit sixth in the Premier League, trailing leaders Liverpool by 12 points. They also face the risk of missing out on the Champions League knockout stages after going winless in their last three European matches.
