Aad de Mos is safe in his job as UAE national team manager, according to FA officials who yesterday sought to quell lingering uncertainty over the Dutchman's future.

Both the FA and De Mos are happy with each other and neither have any desire to pursue any alternative agenda, said Khalid Bin Faris, a member of the UAE board of directors and national teams committee chairman.

Bin Faris, speaking at a press conference at the FA's premises in Dubai, added: "The two parties would like to continue and there is no intention from either sides to break up the partnership."

Aad de Mos was also on hand to say that he is looking forward to building the UAE national team.

"I don't have any ideas about leaving the UAE national team. The FA wants me to stay and I still have the same desire to continue with them and complete the work I began last year. I feel at home here."

He then went on to announce the names of 23 players to join a three-day training camp in Sharjah on Sunday in preparation for the friendly match against Switzerland on February 9.

De Mos also selected 20 players for the Olympic team who will also attend the three-day training camp to play against the Swiss Olympic team on the same day. The senior team match will be at 7pm against the Swiss senior team. Both matches will be at the same venue at the Rashid Stadium, part of Al Ahli Club. The UAE national team will take part in an international tournament in Japan at the end of May.

There will then be a training camp in Europe from July 15 to August 15, followed by a friendly tournament in the UAE with the participation of strong teams from Europe, Africa and South America.

De Mos added that national team players are selected according to their current league standard.

"If a player is not appearing for his club, I will not pick him either," he said.
