Dubai: Yohan Cabaye netted only his second goal of the season as Al Nasr defeated Sharjah 3-0 in Arabian Gulf Cup action last night.

The Frenchman, who has been capped 48 times for his country, grabbed the opener in the Group B clash at the Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium 10 minutes before the break.

Mohammad Salman Al Akberi and former Manchester City star Alvaro Negredo both struck inside two minutes after the interval to make it 3-0 and put the result beyond doubt.

The win meant Al Nasr maintained their perfect start to the campaign and they sit atop of Group B with nine points from three games.

In Wednesday’s other action, Dibba beat Kalba 1-0 at Fujairah Club Stadium in their Group A match. Moroccan Yahya Jabrane grabbed the only goal from the penalty spot in the 21st minute.
