Brussels: The friendly football match between Belgium and Portugal, scheduled for next Tuesday at King Baudouin Stadium, has been cancelled for security reasons, the Royal Belgian Football Association said in a statement on Wednesday.

"For security reasons and precaution, the City of Brussels has asked the Belgian FA to cancel the match Belgium-Portugal on March 29," the statement said.

This decision was taken after Tuesday's terror attacks in Brussels, which left at least 35 people dead and 200 others wounded, reports Efe.

The statement explained that the match between the Red Devils and Portugal "will not take place" and that fans who bought online tickets for the match will be refunded in April.
