Munich: Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will be out for two matches after sustaining an injury in training, but should be fit for the Champions League showdown with Real Madrid, the Bundesliga giants said Thursday.

“Manuel Neuer underwent a successful minor operation ... on Wednesday evening after sustaining an injury to his left foot in training,” Bayern said in a statement.

The 31-year-old Germany keeper will be sidelined for Bayern’s Bundesliga matches against Augsburg on Saturday and Hoffenheim next Tuesday.

Then comes the league clash with Borussia Dortmund on April 8, followed by the Champions League quarter-final against Real four days later.

Neuer hasn’t played since March 19, having pulled out of Germany’s 1-0 friendly win over England and a 4-1 World Cup qualifier victory over Azerbaijan with a calf injury.

Sven Ulreich will likely replace Neuer for the two upcoming Bundesliga games, the reserve goalkeeper having only donned the Bayern jersey once this season, in the club’s surprise 3-2 defeat by Rostov in a Champions League pool game.

Neuer received support from Real Madrid midfielder and former Bayern teammate Toni Kroos — but he also cheekily had his eye on the upcoming quarter-final.

“Get well. But take your time.,” Kroos wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Mahmoud Dahoud will join Dortmund from Borussia Moenchengladbach this summer, both Bundesliga clubs confirmed in an official statement on Thursday.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who was courted by European top-flight clubs, has agreed on a transfer to Dortmund after putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2022. Both sides agreed to remain silent over further contract details, reports Xinhua news agency.

“Mahmoud Dahoud is a highly talented and interesting player for central midfield. We have observed him intensively for several years. He has already proved that he can play at a top level,” Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc said.

The new arrival, who is part of Germany’s Under-21 national team since 2016, provided seven goals in 69 appearances for Monchengladbach, where he started his professional career in 2014.

Monchengladbach currently sit in 10th place. Dortmund occupy third, 16 points behind front-runners Bayern.
