Al Jazira Club have disclosed the main sponsors for their senior football team in the new 2004-05 domestic season in a deal worth Dh 2.5 million.

Al Jazira Club have disclosed the main sponsors for their senior football team in the new 2004-05 domestic season in a deal worth Dh 2.5 million.

Butti Mohammad Al Qubeissi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Jazira Club, announced in a press conference yesterday that Al Mansour Jewellery will be their team's main sponsor in the presence of Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, the owner of Al Mansour Jewellery.

"On behalf of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the Honorary President of the club and Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director General of the President's Office and the President of the club, I express our thanks and gratitude to Al Mansour Jewellery as a national company which is interested in supporting youth and sports of the UAE," Al Qubeissi said.

"We are hopeful that our team will realise our dreams of winning a title this season because of the good preparations which they have undergone and because of the outstanding players, professional and local, which will represent the club in the domestic competitions during the season."

Al Mahmoud expressed his thanks to Shaikh Hamdan and Shaikh Mansour for providing the opportunity for his company to become a partner with the club during the new season.

"I believe that Al Jazira Club are one of the best local teams in the country, and I am eagerly looking forward to a long and successful partnership with this club and its members in the near future," Al Mahmoud said.

"We have sponsored many events and teams in the past motivated by our national obligations towards our youth and implementing the directions of President His Highness Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to the national companies to provide all the support to the youth and sports of the UAE in order to help them to achieve victories at regional and international levels.

"Sponsoring local teams is an investment not only in the advertising the sponsors get but also it is a national investment for our youth. I hope that the team will be one of the top clubs in the UAE during the new season," Al Mahoud stated.

Both Al Qubeissi and Al Mahoud signed the deal while the team's new professional midfielder Amuah Diaky Ebrahim from Cote D'Ivoire, showed the new jersey of the team with the Al Mahmoud Jewellery logo on it.
