Dubai : Hosts Al Diyafah High School, Dubai retained the Al Diyafah interschool boys football tournament title defeating St Mary's Catholic School, Dubai by a solitary goal.
The all important goal came in the second half of extra time from defender Dwayne D'Souza.
The same teams had played in last year's final too. Al Diyafah High School won the prestigious tournament for the fourth time in a row, clinching the title from eight IGCSE schools in Dubai that took part in this tournament.
The final started at a slow pace, with Al Diyafah testing the goal keeper with long range shots and St Mary's trying to create chances with short passes.
Slowly the game turned in favour of Al Diyafah.
Al Diyafah forward tried many shots to the goal. Amsil Syed Hussain missed two golden chances in the eighth and 22nd minutes of the game while Josanto, the captain of Al Diyafah, was lucky with a powerful shot which hit the crossbar.
