Dubai: Al Ahli maintained their winning form with a 6-4 victory against Ajman Club to become the only team with an unbeaten record after four rounds of the 2013 UAE Beach Soccer League played at the Al Mamzar Beach Park on Saturday.

Playing without the suspended Nuno Miguel of Portugal, Al Ahli did just enough to secure maximum points, with Joao Vitorio Madjer and Rashid Hassan getting a brace each, while skipper Qambhar Mohammad and Mohammad Ahmad scored one apiece.

For Ajman, Hassan Ali got two goals while Adnan Abdul Rahman and Ahmad Bashir scored one each. Al Ahli now lead Group A with 12 points followed by Ajman and Al Shabab with six points each, while Dibba Al Hisn have yet to secure a point.

In the second match, Al Shabab overwhelmed lowly Dibba Al Hisn 5-0 to keep themselves in the running for a semi-final qualifying spot.

Earlier on Friday, Al Nasr had defeated Ittihad Kalba 7-4 to climb to the top of Group B, while Fujairah Club had stunned favourites Al Wasl 7-5.

Al Nasr are now at the top of Group B with nine points followed by Al Wasl and Fujairah Club with six points each, while Ittihad Kalba sit at the bottom with three points.

The 2013 UAE Beach Soccer League had taken a break of more than a month and a half to enable the UAE national team to participate in the Asian leg qualifiers for the 2013 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup which were held in Doha last month. The UAE went on to beat Australia 3-2 in the third-place play-off to seal a place in the Tahiti Beach Soccer World Cup later this year.
