Abu Dhabi: Shivank Vijaykumar and Moaaz Qazi scripted The Cambridge High School's passage to the final of the Abu Dhabi inter-school tournament yesterday.

Vijaykumar, the captain, led from the front with 58 not out for his team to reach 152 for six and then Qazi grabbed four wickets to dismiss Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS) for 139 to seal a 13-run win in the inaugural match on the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council's (ADCC) new turf pitch adjoining the Zayed stadium.

Vijaykumar's 35-ball knock was studded with four sixes and a couple of fours, and he shared a valuable 88-run partnership with Mohammad Riyan, who chipped in with a gutsy 44 off 48 deliveries, according to a press release.

The Cambridge openers Shaheer Jazil and Bilal Passela had given them a slow but steady start after being sent in to bat first. Jazil was first to depart at 22 when he was caught behind by Saud Arif off Zakir Hussain for 12 and Passela was run out for 16 after pushing the score to 46 with Riyan.

Khalid Siddiqui (8) and Qazi (0) fell in quick succession before Vijaykumar joined Riyan in the game's most productive partnership.
