The Super Over became an instant hit when it decided the winner of the Rajasthan Royals versus Kolkata Knight Riders battle on Thursday. But it is much better than a bowl-out?

Gulf News contacted the experts to get their reaction to the Super Over:

The teams have to do a lot of thinking in choosing the batsmen and bowlers for the job. The beauty of it is, it can get over in two balls! So, there has to be an amount of caution as well with the way the teams approach the format.

You have to gamble! I can say that clearly since I had batted in a Super Over twice now. One big hit can change the fate of the game as Yousuf Pathan proved.

I loved the Super Over, it was really exciting. It's bound to add a new dimension to the T20 game. The most interesting thing about it is, it has a lot to do with skill rather than luck.

It is new in the T20 format. And I definitely think it is a better option to break a tie than bowl-outs. It gives a fair chance to both the teams with both bat and the ball.

Both the batsmen and the bowlers get a go in this format. But the bowler has to bring all his variations into play.

It's exciting, super exciting. And I am sure that it provide a boost to the second edition of the IPL.

Oh, it's wonderful! It's super exciting! Definitely, I would have loved this if I was still an active player.

Yes, it's good. It's really all about nerves for the bowler who is bowling. A cool head is absolutely mandatory. Otherwise, you will be beaten mercilessly.
