Durban: Virender Sehwag disappointed an Indian team colleague following his remarks during the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Durban recently.

Sehwag termed his Delhi Daredevils team-mate Daniel Vettori as the best spinner in the world, which hasn't been quite music to the ears of Harbhajan Singh.

Vettori had just worked his magic on Kings XI Punjab with figures of 3 for 15 from three overs, which turned the game on its head and ultimately led to Delhi's triumph by 10 wickets.

A grateful Sehwag was ecstatic, profusely praising the New Zealand captain for his effort and stating that in his team "they had the best spinner of the world" in the left-arm tweaker.

It apparently hasn't gone down well with Harbhajan who, his inner circle of friends reveal, feels Vettori has been taken to cleaners often enough by Indian batsmen to not deserve such a praise.

"Gambhir has been quite dominant against Vettori, and so have been Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sehwag himself," said a friend of Bhajji from the Mumbai Indians camp "Why, even Harbhajan Singh thrashed him with abandon in the third Test."

The third Test in mention was the one in Wellington recently where India recovered from a disastrous 204 for 6 tea-time score through some exhilarating batting by the lower half.

Harbhajan Singh hit a half century and in one of Vettori's over, smashed him for a six and two fours, all with authoritative style.

"Yahan gaind karte karte kandha ukhar gaya [My shoulder has given way by bowling so much]," Harbhajan is believed to have said to his friend, stating in genuine frustration at this verbal-blip on the part of his team-mate and long-time friend.

Harbhajan and Vettori are both champion spinners in their own right, though the Indian has better figures than the New Zealand captain.

Bhajji has picked up 330 and 207 wickets in Tests and one-dayers while Vettori's career charts puts it at 293 and 241 wickets in the two formats of the game.

Even in the recent Test series between the two countries, Vettori took seven wickets at 52 runs apiece while Bhajji's returns were 16 wickets at 21 runs apiece.

Harbhajan and Sehwag form a great pair in the dressing room and both love having a go at each other in the nets.

Often Sehwag teases Harbhajan by asking him to try and pitch the ball while bowling to him in the nets.
