Nawaz helps Seven Seas sink Fly Emirates

Dubai: Qadir Nawaz's fighting unbeaten 49 helped Seven Seas Strikers beat Fly Emirates in the semifinal of the G Force Premier League at the Zabeel Park ground.

Emirates, after their impressive performance in the tournament, were bowled out for 116, their lowest total against the strong Seven Seas Strikers attack. Kashif took 3 for 31 runs while Farhan and Asif bagged two wickets each.

In reply Seven Seas Strikers began well with Asif and Freddy Sidhwa putting on 42 runs in 5 overs. After a minor collapse, Seven Seas were struggling at 62 for 5 in 10 overs when Qadir Nawaz played the match-winning knock.

Meanwhile, Kashif Ahmad cracked a scintillating century to guide Emirates Islamic Bank (EIB) to a convincing 93-run victory over Farooq CC in the 17th AJ Invitation League Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.
