Former Indian cricketer had ignored Virat's name in a post talking about quick scorers
Dubai: Virat Kohli's brother, Vikas, slammed former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar for his posts on IPL 2025 strike-rates.
Manjrekar made controversial comments about Royal Challengers Bengaluru and had said that the battle between Kohli and Jasprit Burah could no longer be considered and praised the new generation batters for their fearless approach and have a high strike-rate.
He also had said Kohli was past his prime and excluding him from his top 10 IPL 2025 batters list despite being the current highest run-scorer.
“Priyansh Arya 69(35) Prabhsimran 83(49), last night v KKR. Yet another instance of new age batters outperforming earlier generation big name batters. T20s is their game!" Manjrekar posted.
Vikas Kohli took a dig at the post on his official Threads account, highlighting the former cricketer's batting strike-rate of 64.31 in ODIs. Kohli's brother sarcastically said it was easy for Manjrekar to talk about 200-plus strike-rates.
“Mr sanjay manjrekar; Career odi strike rate: 64:31; Easy to talk about 200 plus strike rates," Vikas posted on Threads.
Kohli has been on the top of his form in the current edition of the IPL scoring six half-centuries in 10 IPL innings.
