30-year-old was a brand ambassador of the league last year
Dubai: Indian cricketer Sanju Samson will be seen in action during the second edition of the Kerala Cricket League, organised by the Kerala Cricket Association.
Samson who is in news about his likely move to Chennai Super Kings from Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, was a brand ambassador for the tournament in Kerala last season but did not play owing to national commitments.
KCA governing council chairman Nazir Machan confirmed to Sportstar that the 30-year-old has expressed his willingness to participate in the franchise league, which will take place ahead of the next IPL season. The KCA will reveal its plans for the second edition after a franchise meeting on June 26.
Samson will be a part of the 39-player Category A pool in the auction, which also includes fellow IPL player Vignesh Puthur and Sachin Baby, who captains the Kerala Ranji Trophy team.
The RR captain had to endure an injury-interrupted IPL 2025 season with the Royals but still managed to score 285 runs in nine games at an average of over 35.
Samson, who guided Jaipur to the IPL 2022 final, also became Rajasthan Royals’ most successful captain, surpassing the legendary Shane Warne in terms of total wins.
