A bomb threat email sent to the official account of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) triggered a major security alert during the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, PTI reported.

According to PTI, the email—sent from an unknown ID—was detected during the ongoing match, prompting the CAB to alert Kolkata Police.

"We received a bomb threat mail in the afternoon, after which we informed Kolkata Police. Security has been beefed up inside the stadium," CAB president Snehasish Ganguly told the agency.
