Dubai: The Indian Premier League Season 18 final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Indian board confirmed on Tuesday.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the TATA IPL 2025 Playoffs, with the knockout matches set to take place in New Chandigarh and Ahmedabad.

Chandigarh gets Qualifier 1 and Eliminator

After 70 action-packed league-stage matches filled with energy, drama, and entertainment, the spotlight will shift to the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, which will host the much-anticipated Qualifier 1 on May 29 — featuring the top two ranked sides — followed by the Eliminator between the third- and fourth-placed teams on May 30.

The winners of Qualifier 1 will directly book their place in the final, while the losers of that game will face the winners of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2 on June 1 — also in Ahmedabad.

The highly anticipated summit clash, which will decide the champion of IPL Season 18, is set for June 3 at the world’s largest cricket stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium, which boasts a capacity of 132,000.

Weather reshuffle affects venues

Hyderabad and Kolkata were originally slated to host the final four matches, before a one-week suspension of the tournament prompted a reshuffle. The new venues were decided by the IPL Governing Council, taking into account weather conditions and logistical factors.

One league match — between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad — has also been relocated to Lucknow due to unfavourable weather in Bengaluru.

As with the playoffs, an additional one hour will be allocated to the playing conditions for the remaining league-stage fixtures starting May 20.
