The crucial tie between Canada and Netherlands in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 was abandoned without a ball being bowled after rains played spoilsport in Windhoek.

Both teams entered the match with a win against hosts Namibia.

Canada defended their score of 167 for 8 in the DLS method on Sunday in a match which ended in a Super Over. With one run needed off two balls, bowler Kaleem Sana delivered two dot balls and effected a run-out. He then conceded just three in the Super Over as Canada cruised home eventually.

Netherlands were bowled out for 159 in their match against Namibia but came back to defend that total comfortably in the end, by 53 runs.

The United States lead with 22 points from 16 matches, while Canada are in second with 17 points from 15 matches.

The Netherlands are third with with 18 points from 15 games. The UAE are lying at the bottom of the table with just four points from 11 matches.
